Section 8

Section 8 is the Housing Choice Voucher program is the federal government's major program for assisting very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market. Since housing assistance is provided on behalf of the family or individual, participants can find their own housing, including single-family homes, townhouses, and apartments.

Section 8 gives you a bit more freedom when it comes to living where you want. Once issued a Section 8 voucher you would have to find a place in which takes your voucher. When applying please include the rent/utilities you can prove you pay.

Project-Based Section 8

Jaclen Towers is a Section 8 project-based subsidy. “Project-based Section 8" refers to a type of housing assistance program where the rental subsidy is tied to a specific apartment unit within a building.

Congregate

Congregate Housing gives you the opportunity for companionship, while still ensuring personal privacy. The apartment includes a shared living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, and with two full bathrooms one tub and one fully handicapped-accessible shower. All common areas are fully furnished. You would have your bedroom with a private, half-bath.

These apartments are “single occupancy” which means no spouses/partners, siblings, children, or extended family members. You will share your common living space with three other people.
